Class Pet

Happy Holidays! We are counting down the days to Winter Break! There is so much to do, so much to learn, and so much fun to be had!!!

 

I had told the kids that over Thanksgiving break, I would go searching for a class pet. My husband and I visited his family in Florida over the break, so I thought hermit crabs would be PERFECT for our class! When we went to the pet store, the hermit crab shells were painted to resemble batman, princess, and other commercial designs. Needless to say, these would NOT go with our room theme! :o) More importantly, these buggers don't live very long.

 

We then checked out the hamsters and I fell in love with a CRAZY dwarf hamster who ran around the cage NONSTOP for 10 minutes. Even though I begged and pleaded, my husband was wise enough not to torture this poor animal in endearing a 10 hour car trip home.

 

Thus, we are still in search of a class pet. A couple of the kids have mentioned the fact that family members or friends are trying to "get rid of" their hamsters. If any of you know anyone that is looking for a good home to send their loved one, our class would be more than willing to adopt them! We would also be needing a glass fish tank/cage and some food.
